ZAKARIA ISLAMIC ACADEMY (ZIA) WEEKLY MASHWARA/MEETING
FEBRUARY 24, 2026
Attendees: Mufti Saad, Maulana Ibraheem Khan, Nasir Vohra, Mohammed Saleem, Zubair Shaikh, Shoukat Nawaz

1. Construction Update:
   Environmental company gave new updates for Wetland designation including ponds and a new 20 feet requirement. Mukhtar will work with Shoukat to update the site plan.
2. Ramadan Expenses and Annual recurring expenses:
   Mufti Saad, Maulana Ibraheem and Ustad Suhem will lead the effort to collect the funds for annual recurring expenses and Ramadan expenses (Arcola elementary school rental, iftars, disposable plates, napkins etc.). Daily iftars are at Zakaria masjid and 4 community iftars at Arcola as given in Ramadan calendar.
3. Community Townhall Meeting:
   Next townhall is scheduled for March 22, Sunday after maghrib. Flyer is being prepared and will be distributed on ZIA groups and email and announced on Jumuahs.
4. Maintenance:
   Potholes repair and milled gravel was laid and rolled by Choudhary company. Snow removal was done by two different companies. Frequency of trash pickup was increased to two per week.
5. Youth:
   Program will be on the Friday night after Taraweeh during Ramadan.
6. Ramadan Qiyam:
   It will happen in last ten days and Takmeel-e-Quran will be done Insha Allah.
7. Taraweeh Khatm:
   Combined khatm will be done at Arcola on Ramadan 29th night.
8. Hifz boys and girls:
   Hifz for boys and girls tashkeel will be made for summer and year-long program during taraweeh.
